Quoris is a space to surface civic ideas and understand where people stand. It is not a government agency, election office, political party, or legal service. Using Quoris means agreeing to these straightforward rules.
Use Quoris constructively
You need an account to vote, post, contribute, or report. Public representative lookups require no account. Keep your account information accurate, protect your sign-in methods, and use a username you are comfortable showing publicly.
You can create or access an account using a password or Google sign-in when available. Google signup still requires a public username and self-reported ZIP. Google authentication does not verify your residence, grant additional privileges, or bypass account restrictions. Linking Google to an existing account requires confirmation with that account's Quoris password. Google-created accounts can add a password through email recovery. You are responsible for keeping access to your account email and any linked Google account secure.
Do not use Quoris to post hate speech, harass, threaten, impersonate, spam, violate the law, or publish someone else's private information.
Delegating to an agent
You may use API tokens issued in Account to let your chosen agent read and submit ideas, reasons, and implementation suggestions. You are responsible for everything submitted with your token, including agent-drafted text. Review text before submission: it becomes public unless held for moderation. Tokens also allow permitted edits to your ideas. They do not permit deletion, voting, reporting, account management, or administration.
Protect tokens like passwords. Share a token only with the agent you authorize, never publish it, and revoke it when no longer needed. Tokens expire within 90 days and are subject to account restrictions and rate limits. Signing out does not revoke them; a password reset does.
Your content is public conversation
Ideas, reasons, and implementation suggestions are user-generated. You are responsible for what you submit. By posting, you give Quoris permission to host, display, format, rank, and share that content as needed to run the product and its public exploration pages.
Quoris does not endorse every idea or claim that appears here. Vote counts and trending order are product signals, not polling, official findings, or proof that a public body will act.
Once another account engages with an idea, or a forwarding packet is approved, Quoris may retain a record of its current wording to support the service's history and forwarding records. Anyone can inspect retained wording for visible ideas. Authors may edit their visible ideas while outside moderation review. After engagement or forwarding approval, previous wording remains available and every current voter receives an in-app update. Votes remain until their owners change or remove them. Approved forwarding packets remain unchanged and edits do not automatically send replacement packets. Reading or marking an update notification read does not mean you approve the wording, and does not change your vote.
Public reading and private submissions
Visible ideas and their visible contributions can be read without signing in, including later pages of a discussion. Public pages may be discovered by search engines; we do not guarantee indexing. Rankings can change between visits.
Authors can read their own stored held submissions in a private dashboard view, with “Flagged for review” for pending moderation or “Hidden” after a decision to hide. Authorized moderators also retain access. This view does not reveal reports, reporter identities, internal notes, or another author's moderated text. If a parent idea is unavailable, the author can see their own retained contribution without the moderated parent title.
The private view is for reading only and adds no editing, deletion, appeal, or notification process. It does not preserve content already deleted under existing rules or promise a review deadline.
Moderation and access
We may review reports, hide or remove content, limit features, or suspend accounts to protect people and keep the service usable. Automated safeguards may temporarily hold a submission before it becomes public and route it for moderator review. Those safeguards can be wrong; they are one moderation signal, not a final decision. We do not promise to review every post before it is visible or to keep any particular content available forever.
Forwarding is reviewed, not guaranteed
Some ideas may be assembled into a packet for a verified public contact after administrator review. That is not a promise that an idea will be forwarded, received, answered, adopted, or acted on. Quoris is not acting as your lawyer, lobbyist, representative, or agent.
District and representative suggestions based on a ZIP are approximate. A ZIP can overlap several districts, and participation counts based on self-reported ZIPs are not verified constituent counts. Administrators review potential recipients separately; appearing in a ZIP suggestion does not automatically send them an idea. The public representative lookup also serves WhoReps.us. Address matching identifies geographic suggestions, not verified residence or identity. Public roster records may be incomplete or outdated; confirm current officeholders and contact details with official sources.
Service changes
Quoris is an evolving product. We may add, change, pause, or discontinue features. We work to keep it useful, but cannot promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that every piece of information is current or complete.
These terms can change
If these terms change, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Quoris after that update means you accept the revised terms.
